In this workshop, we will practice somatic yoga, yin yoga, and
breathing techniques that will help you reconnect with your parasympathetic
nervous system which is often frazzled from day to day living.
There will also be a half hour guided relaxation at the end of
the meeting to help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
• Somatic Yoga is a series of movements where we
consciously contract and release muscles while moving in a comfortable
range of motion. The benefit of this practice is becoming aware
and releasing unconscious chronic tensions we hold in our musculature.
• Yin Yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for
three to five minutes at a time. A Yin practice emphasizes the
connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine.
In this way it prepares the body and the mind for longer meditation
practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from
the muscles and deeper into the bones, a deep level of relaxed
focus is achieved.
• Breathing Techniques will also be introduced that help
reduce anxiety and regain lung/ribcage capacity.
• Guided Imagery to help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
All levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket
or large towel. Please come 15 minutes early to check in so we
can start on time. Light snacks provided after the event.
Space is limited so please register early by emailing
