Please join us for this sacred, unique opportunity to
spend an evening with one of the last living Tzutujil Mayan Elders,
Tata Pedro Cruz, visiting from his home town of Lago Atitlan,
Guatemala. Tata Pedro Cruz is a revolutionary of our times, with
a life story steeped in truth, challenge, suffering, and ultimately
peace, love,
and a reconnection to our Mother Earth and Mayan Spirituality.
He has pilgrimaged over 800 miles thro...ugh Central America spreading
the knowledge of his Mayan ancestors to many indigenous villages
whose culture
was being lost. His powerful testament that peace is the way was
delivered from his personal struggles as a prisoner of the Guatemalan
Civil War, early abandonment from his mother and other universal
struggles
we all face by virtue of being human.
Come share this special evening with us
as he speaks of the Sacred Tzolkin Mayan Calendar, sheds light
of the prophecies of our current time and what 2012 means, and
leads us through a Sacred Mayan fire ceremony honoring the cosmic
cycles. Tata Pedro emanates a presence of pure love, joy, and
soul wisdom.
He invites us all to know that the world is not going to end in
2012, in fact we are shifting into a space
of LOVE, peace, and unity. With his message, Tata Pedro encourages
all that "We first must come
together in our communities, and then we can come together in
the world."
Artwork will also be for sale by Producer
Whitney Kear, inspired by the documentary film shoots and
travels to Guatemala, which benefit the documentary film for Outside
The Box Media Arts. Outside
the Box Media Arts mission is to serve as a messenger between
unheard communities around the world
to share ancient wisdom with our modern culture through film,
photography, and multimedia.
$20.00 is requested for this special event.
All $20.00 will go directly towards Tata Pedro and his family,
and we are accepting additional donations to cover his food and
travel costs while he is in California.
We are also currently in need of $3,000
to finish translations for our documentary. We are graciously
receiving any further donations for this effort to supplement
our online fundraising project. We are so
close to completing this film, the time for this message is now,
and really appreciate any support to
finish editing.
Deep Thanks and we look forward to enjoying
this evening with you!

Tata Pedro Cruz biography:
Tata Pedro Cruz who's Maya name is k'u'x'ya
meaning 'heart of the lake', is one of the last living
Tzutujil Mayan elders of Lago Atitlan Guatemala. He is a member
of the Council of Mayan Elders
of Guatemala and 2005 World Peace Ambassador. He has been working
to bring together surrounding
Maya from neighboring villages to hold ceremony with one another.
He started holding a gathering of
Elders and young Maya from all over Guatemala, whilst traveling
to Tikal where he has been holding
ceremonies in Tikal at the main Jaguar courtyard for the December
21 Winter Solstice for the past
6 years and will continue to do so until December 21 2012. Tata
Pedro's main philosophy is in order
for us to come together as a world we must first come together
in our own communities. He has been
leading ceremonies to unite varying Maya lineages, along with
allowing westerners to be a part of some
of the Maya ceremonies bringing together a unity of all races,
continents and creeds. He is a day keeper
of the Tzutujil Mayan Calendar which is a branch of the Quiche
Maya. He has been leading workshops
to untie the Maya within his communities and teaching youth around
the world about the wisdom of the
elders. Through all of his experiences throughout life, his main
phrase is something that can resonate
with all of us. "No matter what- everything always with love."
