Next thursday evening,
August 12th, members of the Hutchins Consort
will be performing with a unique graphic artist at the Neurosciences
Institute.
The concert will begin at 8pm.
This evening will be a collaboration between visual
artist J-Walt's Spontaneous Fantasia and the Hutchins Consort.
Original music composed by Artistic Director and Founder of the
Hutchins Consort, Joe McNalley, scored for Hutchins instruments,
sitar, guitar, bagalamas, accordian, and percussion. Spontaneous
Fantasia is the live performance
work of J-Walt. This Renaissance artist
utilizes the latest in interactive computer graphics techniques
to bring
paintings to life. The result is a Spontaneous Fantasia, a live
animated movie that unfolds before an audience.
These works incorporate elements of animation, theater, dance,
painting, sculpture, music, architecture,
and interactive art.
For this program, the musicians of the Hutchins Consort will weave
a sensuous tapestry of tonal color on their various violins, plucked
strings and percussion, while J-Walt draws a computer-generated
3D virtual world populated with fantastic other-worldly flora,
creating a garden of unearthly designs.
